Texas producers, including forestry sector, eligible for new AgPro Grant Program
Texas agricultural producers — including those in the forestry sector — have a new opportunity to invest in their operations through the Agriculture Production Resource Opportunity (AgPro) Grant Program, administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
The program, launched in 2026 under the direction of the Texas Agricultural Finance Authority, is designed to help producers improve, expand and strengthen their operations through strategic investments in equipment, infrastructure and efficiency.
Who is eligible
The program is open to agricultural producers across Texas, including those engaged in forestry production. Eligible applicants must derive at least 50 percent of their gross income from agricultural products such as crops, livestock, forestry products, nursery stock, aquaculture or hydroponics.
Funding details
Grant awards range from $5,000 to $500,000 and require a cost share from recipients:
- $5,000 – $100,000: 10% match
- $100,000 – $250,000: 20% match
- $250,000 – $500,000: 30% match
Funding is distributed on a reimbursement basis and will require compliance reporting.
Application timeline
Applications are open through 5 p.m. CST May 14.

Applications must be submitted through TDA’s online system. Producers are encouraged to begin the process early to ensure all eligibility and account requirements are completed before the deadline.
